The lecture: Study and Culture of Spain organized by the College of Foreign Studies was held in C303 of NAU’s main teaching building, on the afternoon of April 13th. The College’s Executive Dean Professor Han Jiqin, participated in the lecture, together with the Dean of JESIE Jiangsu College of International Education, Liu Haifeng, and two teachers from the Spain Language Center of JESIE. The lecture was hosted by Han Jiqin.
At the beginning, Dean Liu Haifeng said he was very pleased and honored to be at NAU. He gave a briefing on the case of JESIE and the Spanish Pre-university Program. He stressed that Spain plays an important role in the construction strategy of "One Belt and One Road Initiative", and China has a high Spanish demand. He encouraged the students to participate in the Spanish Pre-university Program for Master’s Degrees, which is organized by JESIE, to study Spanish language and be well prepared for their study in Spain, and to serve the strategy of "One Belt and One Road Initiative".
Then, Guillermo and Christina from JESIE Spain Language Center gave a presentation of Spain and Spanish culture. They showed a video presentation about the country to the students to promote the understanding of Spanish history, arts and humanities, science and technology, industry and commerce. Subsequently, the two teachers and students had a great deal of positive interaction.
The event opened up the vision of our students, to create an international atmosphere of education in NAU, and created exchange opportunities for students who wish to go study in Spain or work in related foreign languages.
