On April 21-23,on behalf of NJAU, Luo Yuguo from the Collegeof Foreign Studies and another studentYe Yabing attended the final competition in the East China Division of the 20thFLTRP Cup National English Debating Competition in Anhui University.

They receivedthe Third Prize, ranking 34th among the 92 teams, after a heated debating of 5rounds.

With sponsorsincluding Beijing Foreign Studies University, thiscompetition was organized by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.The debating format of British Parliamentary Debate was introduced in thiscompetition. 184 students from 92 universities in eastChina(Jiangsu,Shanghai, Zhejiang,Anhui, Shandong)joined the competition. Additionally, experts from different countries and independentjudges were invited to be the chief judges in order to make the competition afair one.

Finally, thecompetition ended with 1 team as champions, 1 team for the second place, 2teams for the third place, 12 teams for the First Prize and 16 teams for theSecond Prize.
